Law of Attraction Disclaimers and Personal Growth
I love the law of attraction.
I think that it’s key to personal growth.
BUT.
Yeah, there’s a but.
We can exert a huge influence over what happens in our lives.
But we can’t influence everything that happens to us.
Similarly, we can understand and predict a significant part of what happens in the world.
But other events are more or less unpredictable.
It’s true that events can teach us why they happened.
We may see a combination of multiple factors which led to the event.
But knowing some of the factors at work isn’t the same as being able to predict.
We want control, and we imagine that we have more control over the world than we really do.
We want to pretend that everything is knowable and under our control, so we can feel safe.
I believe that the world is orderly, but it’s not always an order that we can understand, and major parts of the world will remain unpredictable.
The law of attraction suggests that you have attracted everything in your environment.
I agree that we have to take responsibility for dealing with whatever the world throws at us, and find a way to learn from every situation.
I think we can do a great deal to form our future.
Not only by attracting what we want,
But also by choosing how we will deal with everything that comes our way,
expected, desired or not.
